Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 1, 2020 Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Power Station Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Betty Jean Butts Walker was born on February 28, 1944 in Marion County, Georgia to the late Thomas R. Butts, Jr. and the late Ada Bess Napper Butts. Betty was educated in the public school system of Marion County Georgia and was a 1962 graduate of Buena Vista Elementary and High School. At an early age, she joined the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the church’s senior choir. Betty enjoyed singing with the members of the choir which included her parents, grandmother, aunt, and godmother.
Betty leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Steve Walker (Melissa), Atlanta, Georgia and Eric Walker (Tracy), Largo, Florida; one granddaughter, Cheree Holman (James), Columbus, Georgia; one grandson, Emmanuel Walker, College Park, Georgia; one sister, Justine Sales (Benny), Buena Vista, Georgia; aunts and uncle, Elizabeth Smith, Hartford, Connecticut, Christine Brown, Atlanta, Georgia, and Willie Val Napper (Jean), Lithonia, Georgia, a nephew, Tracy Sales (Shon), Lithonia, Georgia; two great-nephews, Thomas Sales, Buena Vista, Georgia and Chase Sales, Lithonia, Georgia, members of the Hagler family, the Howell family, and a host of other relatives and friends.
