Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 224, Montezuma, Georgia. Reverend Bobby Brown, pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Leary was born September 1, 1932 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Norman Perkins, Sr. and Bessie Sneed Perkins. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Nekisha Jackson; four siblings also preceded her in death, Carrie Perkins Palmer, Edith Perkins, Ruby Sullins, and Norman Perkins, Jr.
She acquired her education in the Macon County public school system, where she completed high school from the Historic Flint River Farm School. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at Brown Chapel Baptist Church. After many years of dedicated services, she retired as a homemaker.
Survivors are: one son, Alfonso Leary, Decatur, Georgia; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; seven siblings, Norma Perkins Jackson, Rochester, Michigan, Lillian Perkins Butler, Decatur, Georgia, Claude Perkins,(Laura) College Park, Georgia, Lena Perkins Johnson, Montezuma, Georgia, Richard Perkins, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Ernest Perkins, (Sharon) Atlanta, Georgia and Joseph Perkins, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, including a special devoted nephew, PVT Najee Johnson, other relatives and friends. Her extended families, Bracewell , Faulkner and Murphy Families.
