
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2022, at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Churches Road, Montezuma. Burial will follow at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Ms. Beatrice Gaines Sanders was born to the late Bee Sanders and Maggie Ford Sanders on July 17, 1930, in Oglethorpe, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her brothers George Sanders and Roosevelt Sanders and her sister Laura Ann Sanders Harris. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Marcus Leshun Cephus.
She was educated in the Macon County School System. Beatrice confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was later ordained an Elder at New Life Holiness Church in which she served in many capacities. She later moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she attended Living Waters Full Gospel Ministries under the leadership of Bishop B. Michael Burney, Sr. and Pastor Alice Burney until her health failed her. Her greatest joy was reading her bible and spending time with her family.
In celebration of her life, Beatrice leaves to cherish loving memories of 4 devoted daughters; Thelma Malcolm of Lithonia, Georgia, Burnette Waye (James) of Covington, Georgia, Wanda Oliver (Gregory) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Brenda Able (Elder David) of Warner Robins, Georgia; Two Sisters, Marie Spikes of Montezuma, Georgia, Agnes Wright (Larry) of Fort Washington, MD, Grandchildren Lakeyshia Cephus (Fiance Donde Taylor), Jontavius Cephus, Patrick Germany (Karen), Sonya Lucious (Calvin), Brea Waye, Antoine Malcolm, Veronica Malcolm, Eric Malcolm, Stephanie Johnson, and 15 great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
