
The graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 23, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 26, Montezuma, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Anthony Allen was born in Macon County, Georgia, on January 17, 1964, to the late Willie James Allen and Betty Jean Allen.
Anthony moved to Hartford, CT, in the late ’60s. He attended Frank O. Jones Middle School and Weaver High School. Anthony became a certified welder, woodworker, and landscaper; he worked for T-Mobile as a security guard for many years until he departed this life. Anthony loved to laugh, joke, listen to old-school music, watch videos, and play pool, Anthony loved to play many different sports, and most of all, he loved his family. Anthony had a heart of gold, was well-mannered, very respectful, and a pleasure to be around. Anthony was loved by all who knew him.
Anthony was predeceased in death by his son Tyrell Allen and Granddaughter Tyasia Allen.
Anthony leaves behind several children, daughters Charz-Tina Bates, Sherelle McClendon-Thomas, Lashonda Allen, and Antannia Allen; sons, Anthony Allen, Jamar Allen, and John Jenkins; 17 Grandchildren, all of Connecticut; sisters, Gloria Jean Allen of East Hartford, Connecticut, Shandra Allen, Rosa Allen and Sheila Smith all of Montezuma, Georgia; brothers, Willie James Allen Jr. of Hartford, Connecticut, Donnie Allen and Christopher Allen of Montezuma, Georgia; Devoted Stepmother Annie Smith-Allen; 3 nieces Shakia Allen, Shameish Banks and India Harrison Newman; nephew, Alphonso Harrison Jr., Special great-nephews, Jahmonie Henry, Andrew Brown, and Chance Allen, very special great-niece Shanequa Allen and a host of other family members and friends.
