Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 10, 2020 at Champ Water Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road , Montezuma, Georgia.
Please also be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Amye was born February 22, 1944 to the late Albert Colbert and Sudie Bell Colbert. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County, Georgia where she attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the New Baptist Church in Garden Valley and later moved her membership to First Salem Baptist Church. She was married to the late Clyde Carson and two children were born to this union. One son, Adam Clyde Carson, and one brother, Jonus Colbert, preceded her in death. Over the years Amye was employed with Macon County School System working at D.F. Douglass High School and Montezuma Healthcare. After years of dedicated services retired as a dietician from Macon County Headstart Program. She enjoyed during crossword puzzles and sewing.
She is survived by one daughter, Christine McDonald, Montezuma, Ga; six grandchildren, Benecia McDonald, Ben Jamal McDonald, Adam Carson, Justin Carson, Demarcus Slocomb, Alisha Slocomb and one great grandchild, Jamiya Cochran; sisters Lizzie Inez Wells, Atlanta, Hazel Fuller, Roberta, Ga; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carson, Montezuma, Ga, who was also her caretaker, Lillie Manson, Hartford, CT, Clara Montford, Atlanta, Ga, Loretha Brady (Ronnie), Smyrna, Ga , and Lizzie Colbert, Montezuma, Ga; aunts, Mattie Will Gouch, Atlanta, Ga, Lougia Henderson, Riverdale, Ga; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
