Mrs. Alice Felton McKenzie, age 94 passed on Monday, August 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Shade Arnold Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia.  The Reverend Dr. George Porter, Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Alice Mae Felton McKenzie was born on August 24, 1921 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Luvene Felton. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.  She was a dedicated member of the Shade Arnold Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late John Samuel McKenzie, and, to this union, 16 children were born.

She leaves to mourn her passing: 16 children, Alyce Lillian Bryant, Camden, New Jersey, Mildred Louise Joseph, Warner Robins, Georgia, Delores Marie Scott, Warner Robins, Georgia, Paula Solomon, Macon, Georgia, Dorothy Marie Logan (Huzel), Brunswick, Georgia, Pearlie Mae Breatchur (Lofton), and Mary Ann McKenzie both of Perry, Georgia, Elnora Levern Rogers (Lawrence), Montezuma, Georgia, Nancy Lagail Walker (Milton), Bonaire, Georgia, Frances Lagail Harris (Tommie) Hinesville, Georgia,  Willie James McKenzie (Doretha), Perry, Georgia, Semmie James McKenzie, Paul James McKenzie (Lorene), Montezuma, Georgia, Tommy James McKenzie, all of Montezuma, Georgia, Jessie James McKenzie (Annie Ruth), Fort Valley, Georgia, Alvin James McKenzie (Regina), Fort Valley, Georgia; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren,  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.

My Grandmother was an amazing woman who actually had 20 children of which16 are still living. She will be sorely missed but she left an incredible legacy of grands, great grands and great great grands. I rejoice in the fact that the family members who are already enjoying the presence of the Lord, have Grandmom Alice in the choir now.

May our loving heavenly Father Jehovah heal your bereaved hearts. By meditating and God’s promises found in the Bible you can find real hope and strength to keep going during this difficult time... Revelation 21:3-5 Promises us a future blessing with no more pain, suffering, nor anyone dying... Acts 24:15 promises the hope of a resurrection, think of the Joy when you see your loved one again alive and well right here on the earth..
