The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 408 River Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mr. Albert Jackson, Jr., was born January 10, 1945 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Albert Jackson, Sr. and Catherine Patterson Jackson Porter. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County whereas he acquired his high school education in the old historic D. F. Douglass High School. At an early age he joined the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was married to the late Betty Mae Smith Jackson and to this union he was blessed with five children. After the death of his first wife, he married the former Betty Jean Shoats May 8, 1983 and to this union they were blessed with one daughter.
For many years, Mr. Albert was employed with the city of Montezuma as a sanitation worker. He was affectionately known as ‘Bubba” to many of his beloved relatives and friends.
Survivors are a beloved wife of twenty-nine years, Betty Jean Jackson, Montezuma, Georgia; five loving and devoted children, Angela Michelle Jackson, Americus, Georgia, Albert Jackson III (Carla D. Baldwin), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Anthony Wayne Jackson, Antarus Jackson, and Felecia Ann Jackson (Christopher), Montezuma, Georgia; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; five siblings, Landis Ogburn, Montezuma, Georgia, Bernice Barrett (Arthur) Bronx, New York, Frederick Jackson (Alice Pearl), Emma Jackson and Donald Jackson all of Montezuma, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, George Shoats, Jr., Batavia, New York and Harold Shoats, Oglethorpe, Georgia; two aunts and uncles, Fannie Patterson, Montezuma, Georgia and Deacon J. D. Colbert (Annie), DeSoto, Georgia; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
