Willie James Ogburn was born June 29, 1944, in Ideal, Georgia to the late Inez Walker Ogburn Turner and the late James Ogburn. He was preceded in death by siblings Willie Albert Turner, Willie James Turner, Kenneth Ogburn, Alonzo Ogburn, Ocie B. Ogburn and his step father Willie James Turner. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County whereas he attended Ideal Elementary School and D.F. Douglass High School in 1963.
At an early age he joined Shady Grove Baptist Church whereas he served on the Deacon Board and Usher Board Ministry. He was employed at General Motors for over 20 plus years where he was an assembly worker. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling around the country. Following retirement, he worked as an attendant serving families in their time of need with the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc. of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Meadows Mortuary Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia, and Meadows Funeral Home of Albany, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories to two children, Tammy Ogburn Patterson, Atlanta, Georgia, Ayanna Clark Jones, Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, LaToya Davis, Dymon Ogburn, Ayasha Clark, Jeffrey Clark Jr., and Madison Jones; great grandchildren, Riley Ogburn Weaver, Kalil Mosquera, Cameron Clark; siblings, Fannie Bailey, Jimmy Ogburn, Norris Turner (Carolyn), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Daman Turner, Ideal, Georgia, Janice Bank, Decatur, Georgia; aunts and uncles Carolyn Anderson, Miami, Florida, Shorn Ogburn, Montezuma, Georgia, Lonnie Walker, South Carolina, Otis Ogburn (Lillie), Macon, Georgia, Charles Ogburn, Miami, Florida; Abraham Thomas, Newark, New Jersey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including devoted cousins, Rodney Ogburn and Hayward Leggett, and friends, including devoted friends Jeanett Duncan and Annette McKenzie.
