Willie Albert Walker

Willie Albert Walker, age 63, 3670 State Route 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Corinth Baptist Church, 1610 State Hwy 127 West, Garden Valley Community, Ideal, Georgia. Reverend Governor Gibson, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Albert, as he was affectionately called by family, friends, and loved ones, was born November 30, 1950 to the late Willie B. Walker, Sr. and Doshie Davis Walker. He acquired his education from D.F. Douglass High School, Montezuma, Georgia. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He furthered his education at Job Corps of Chicago, Illinois. He was employed with various companies, including Gold Kist Peanut Mill of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Hobbs Septic Tank Service.

Survivors are one daughter, Shawanda Walker  (Aaron McGhee), Montezuma, Georgia; granddaughter, Destiny Walker, Montezuma, Georgia; siblings, Willie B. Walker, Jr., Ceneva Walker Hayes, Eva Walker Hayes (Monroe), and Harvey Robert Walker, Sr. (Arlene), all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Glennice Walker Dugger (Raymon) Bonaire, Georgia, and Roy Neal Walker, Sr. (Debbie), Oglethorpe, Georgia; brother-in-law, Joe Wright, Bronx, New York; uncles and aunts, N.C. Davis, Detroit, Michigan, Arridean Walker, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Mae Eula Walker, Montezuma, Georgia, Gloria McDonald, Marshallville, Georgia, Mary Battle (Major), and Phillip Walker, all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; devoted friends, Leonard Johnson Montezuma, Georgia, Mary Nell Harris, Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Theodise Harris, Chicago, Illinois;  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his godsons, Nicholas Hayes and Ethan Hayes.

    Albert and i were double cousins. My great aunt Lovie Ruth Gouch-Manson (potorow) and Doshie Were 1st cousins. Willie B. Sr. and my dad James (Pap) Clark were first cousins. My name is D'wayne and I will miss Albert when I visit Garden Valley. One day "No one will say I am sick" Isa. 33:24
