Mr. Melvin Thomas Rogers departed this life on Wednesday May 8, 2019 at his residence 402 Claude Fripp Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
 
Mr. Melvin Thomas Rogers was born in Andersonville, Sumter County, Georgia on November 8, 1964. He was the son of Stanley and Mary Frederick Rogers of Ellaville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tyrone Rogers.
 
He was a 1983 graduate of Tri-County High School in Buena Vista, Ga. He was a truck driver with over 30 years of experience. He was employed by Williams Diary Americus, Georgia, until becoming disabled.
 
Melvin accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. E.X. King of Davis Chapel A.M.E of Oglethorpe, Georgia.
 
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Inger Wilson on August 1992. They were blessed with three sons, 1st Lt. Jordan Rogers USAF, SSgt Travis Rogers and Colby Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memories of life: his children, 1st Lt Jordan Rogers USAF, Kansas City, SSgt Travis (Kyana) Rogers, Anchorage, Alaska, Colby Wilson, Houston, Texas, Chaffin (SaRae) Americus, Georgia, Danyettia Crawford, LaGrange, Georgia, Amber English and Jasmine English, Warner Robins, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; his parents, Stanley and Mary Frederick Rogers, Ellaville, Georgia; his siblings, Tracy (Alex) Moore Smithville, Georgia Lorrita Howard, Warner Robins, Georgia, Roland (Marilyn) Aldridge, Ellaville, Georgia, Sherry Porter, Buena Vista, Georgia, Karen Aldridge, Albany, Georgia, Pastor Gregory (Tracy) Porter Buena Vista, Georgia, Brian (Nincy) Aldridge, Suffolk, Virginia; aunts and uncles, Lucille (Thomas) Grover, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Mamie Ann Frederick, Americus, Georgia and Gloria Drayton, Oglethorpe, Georgia; uncles, Leroy Frederick, Andersonville, Georgia; and a devoted friend, Myra English of Warner Robins, Georgia.

I would like to send my condolences to the family of Mr Rogers.I know losing a love one in death is very hard but we can all take comfort in the scriptures at 2corinthians 1:3,4 Where it tells us that he Will comfort you just pray for it.I am so sorry for your loss

Rest In Peace Dear Cousin Melvin , God Allowed Us to Have A Conversation For the First time in a While A Year Ago and I'll Always Treasure it Due to the Fact that we Got Along Great As Children Also, Hopefully I'll see you again on the other Side Bro , Your cousin Alway's , Mr. Samuel Frederick Sr.
