The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 224, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mary Louise Davis Darity was born on April 29, 1943, in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Ammie Lee Brown Davis and the late Walter Davis. She was preceded in death by siblings Cora Manghram, Annie Kate Burnette, Katie Williams, Dan Davis, James Davis, John W. Davis, Gloria Jean Allen, Mary Lois Davis, Eunice Freeman, Eula Wilborn Lyons, Willie B. Davis, Nellie Mae Harris, Bessie Jones, and one daughter Barbara Ann Green. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and attended the historic Flint River Farm School. At early age she joined Brown Chapel Baptist Church she later moved her membership to Pentecostal and joined The Holy House of God. Mary was employed over the years as a line operator at Southern Frozen Food. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Eddie Darity. Mary loved fishing and was a caregiver to many in the community.
She leaves to cherish her memories to nine children: Ethel Lawerence, Marietta, GA, Tony Davis, Emmett Davis, both of Montezuma, GA, Harvey L. Mallard Jr. Warner Robins, GA, Wendy M. Hannor, Simeal Bell, Sheila Perkins (Richard), all of Montezuma, GA, she raised her great niece, Anterica Davis, and great nephew, Adam Davis as her own children, both of Columbus, GA; 26 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; three siblings: Walter B. Davis, Montezuma, GA, Dora Kate McCants, and Willie Clarence Davis, St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a devoted friend, Diane Bailey.
