Lois Maria Smith, age 65, of Malsby Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Sunday, December 17, 2023.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at  the Upper Room Apostolic Holiness Church, 1627 Georgia Hwy 90 West, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this. ​​

Lois Maria Smith, affectionately known as Sister, was born on November 28, 1958 to the late Willie C. Smith and Florene Mangram Smith in Oglethorpe GA.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Tracy Smith.
 
She attended the Middle Flint Behavioral Health and Wellness  Center in Americus Georgia  for many years up until she became ill.
 
Lois was one of God's special people.  She had an infectious smile that would light up the room.   She loved family, church and especially long car rides. 

She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to her beloved family: mother, Florene Mangram Smith, Oglethorpe, Georgia; two brothers, Willie L. Smith and Jeffrey Smith (Judy) all of Oglethorpe Georgia; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith (Antonius), Powder Springs, Georgia and Stephanie Smith Floyd (Winfred), Oglethorpe, Georgia; aunts, Ollie Mangram, Margaret Mangram McLaughlin (Joe) all of Jamaica, New York, Fannie Mond, Perry Georgia, Marva Turner (Jerome), Oglethorpe, Georgia and Diane Morris (Ken), Atlanta, Georgia; uncles Wayne Mangram and Charlie Howard Smith, Jr. both of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Conrad Smith (Cheryl) Warner Robins, Georgia and James Smith, Atlanta Georgia; and a host of nieces , nephews and other relatives and friends and two devoted nieces Brittany Fudge and Raven Smith.

I couldn’t fathom the thought of losing you but God decided that he needed his angel back😞I love you my “Sista Gal” and ima miss the heck outta you😭Just continue to watch over us, especially grandma because she definitely needs your energy during this time🙏🏼 We love you so much❤️

Elizabeth you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at a time such as this. God knows your pain and God will see you through this time. Trust and Believe that God will do what he said he will do. God will take care of each one of you. MCHS CLASS OF 1984 will always be there for you Liz. Know that WE LOVE YOU ❤❤❤❤

As the angels escort my cousin Suda Gal whom I dearly love, safely into heaven and GOD bring the family comfort, he will carry this family through tears and mourning for he forever love us. LOVE MY FAMILY
