A wake will be held from 3:00-4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 260 W. Allen Street, Leslie, Georgia. Burial will follow at Council Cemetery, Hwy 195, DeSoto, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Lena was born January 3, 1945, to the late Ernest & Lena Horton Mays. She was educated in the public school system of Lee County. She was employed at Davidson Textron for many years. Lena was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. On January 20, 1965, two hearts became one when Lena was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life Roosevelt Fuller Sr.
On April 21, 2024, God called Lena name so softly, that only she could hear, and no one heard the footsteps, of angels drawing near. It broke our hearts to lose her, but she did not go alone, for part of us went with her, the day God called her home. As Lena entered eternal rest she was greeted by her son Roosevelt Anthony Fuller, siblings Almeta Mays Smith, Mary Paul, Jack Mays, sisters in law, Mamie Dice, Patricia Fuller, aunts and uncles JC (Everly) Mays, Robert (Norma) Mays, Arthur Lee (Ella Ruth), Mays, James, Mays, Willie James (Annie) Horton, William Daniels.
She leaves a lifetime of memories to beloved husband of 59 years Roosevelt Fuller Sr., DeSoto, Georgia; her loving children, Joyce Fuller, Desoto, Georgia, Toney Fuller (Vetra), West Point, Georgia, Randy Fuller (Alexandra), Americus, Georgia; step children Roosevelt Dice, Miami, Florida, Dorothy (Tommy Lee) Jones, Americus, Georgia, Leather Ingrams, Delaware; 14 grandchildren a host of great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren; brother Ernest Mays, Leesburg, Georgia; brothers and sisters in law John Smith, Americus, Georgia, Dessie Fuller, Everrine Roberson both of Desoto, Georgia, Elmore (Jessie Mae) Fuller, Americus, Georgia, Isiah Fuller Jr., DeSoto, Georgia, Walter (Dorothy) Fuller, DeSoto, Georgia; goddaughter Carolyn Jenkins, Warner Robins, Georgia, devoted friends Alma Williams, Bettye Zanders, Vickey Mathis and Otha Lee Shelter; of host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
