Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Josh Gibson Center, Roger Street, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Kenneth “Kemp” McKay was one of the twin boys born to the late Arthur James McKay and the late Gertrude Gardner McKay In Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia September 30, 1965. He was educated in the public school system of Marion County whereas he acquired his education from the historic Tri-County High School of the Drainesville Community.
Kenneth is preceded in death by one sister, Vanessa McKay. At a young age he joined the Cool Spring Baptist Church, later in life he moved his membership to Spring Field Baptist Church of Warner Robins, Georgia.
Kenneth was married to his one and only love for seventeen beautiful years, Tammy Jordan McKay; two loving and devoted sons, Kenneth Jamerson, Tazewell, Georgia and Derantaye McKay, Perry, Georgia; three siblings, his twin brother, Arthur Kennard McKay (Tecia), Dublin, Georgia, Linda McKay, Alvin McKay and Kenneth Gardner (Dee Ann); a devoted sister-in-law and caretaker, Cheryl Watkin (Paul), Perry, Georgia; other in-laws are Jackie Robinson, Stevie Robinson, and Scottie Robinson all of Perry, Georgia. His aunts and uncles include Jerome Gardner (Mary), Atlanta, Georgia, Joseph McKay, Columbus. Georgia, Leola Brown, Tifton, Georgia, Doris Allene Thomas, Buena Vista, Georgia, Martha Miller, Kentucky’. loving and devoted friends include Marie Fudge Brown, Aaron Byrant and Craig Turner; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
