Celebrating the life & legacy of our sweet Mom & Granny Jessie M. Greene, better known as Susie Q, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Pleasant/Traveler's Rest Church, 315 Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 11, 2023, at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Mrs. Jessie Mae Harris Greene, daughter of the late Nancy Felton and Willie Gary, was born on June 10th, 1941, in Dooly County. She was a 1959 graduate of D.F. Douglass High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Mount Pleasant C.M.E. Church where she was cherished and a dedicated member. Mrs. Greene was employed at Gold King until she retired at the age of 62. Susie Q, as she was affectionately called, was a devoted mother. Her most proudest accomplishment was her three children who adored her. When she was able to attend, she loved church and always listening to Sunday morning gospel music. Most of all she loved cooking for her family and spoiling her grandchildren, she also loved doing word search puzzles, sitting on her porch, watching old westerns, and dancing. She especially liked traveling with her two daughters.

Mrs. Greene quietly departed this life Monday, September 4th at her daughter Gloria's home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Her wonderful life will forever live in the hearts of her two devoted daughters and caregiver Gloria (Ronnie) Snipes, Warner Robins, Georgia, Georgia, Maxine Cochran, Oglethorpe, Georgia, and devoted son Johnny Harris of Montezuma, Georgia. Her loving sister Dorothy Gary of Warner Robins, Georgia,  sister-in-law Shirley A. Stephens, Cordele, Georgia. A brother Willie B. Rogers of Sarasota, Florida. Her precious grandchildren Latorris Harris (Donna), Wisconsin, Antonio Joiner, Wisconsin, Dr. Jessica Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, Tovornea Cochran (Jessica), Perry, Georgia, Johnathan Cochran (Marie), Orange Park, Florida, Jeremy Cochran, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Kendall Harris, Kamira Harris, J’shawn Harris, all of Montezuma, Georgia, and Kensley Harris of Macon, Georgia. Great great grandchildren Khloe Hannor and Kayce Hannor. An uncle Pastor Robert Felton,  Augusta, Ga, aunt Willie Mae Hughes, Nashville, Tennessee. Devoted niece Sharon Stevenson, Montezuma, Georgia, godchildren Pastor Patt & Tina Patterson, Elgin, Texas and a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. My deepest sympathy to Karen, her girls (my other grandchildren), and the enter Fowler family. You were blessed to have a special mother and grandmother. I have been blessed that your mother and grandmother shared you all with me. I am always here for you and the girls. May you find comfort in God's love for each of you and knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life and that you will one day see her again.
