Jesse Hannor, age 33, passed away on December 25, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at First United Holiness Church, 324 Engram Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

Jesse Hannor was born on March 31, 1990, to the late Rosa Marie Hannor and Jesse Lee Harris in Augusta, Georgia. He was the grandson of the late Mother Annie Mae Hannor and John Hannor, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his older brother Joseph (Jo, Jo) Hannor. Jesse was adopted as an infant by Thomas Jefferson (TJ) and Voncile Hannor Adams who loved and cared for him to the end. Jesse matriculated through the Macon County School System and graduated high school in 2008 from Southwest Georgia Institute of Education in Albany, Georgia. He attended South Georgia Technical College and was later employed for 14 years at Cooper Lighting in Americus, Georgia as a Brake Press Operator, and trainer for others on his shift. Jesse’s supervisor described him as “one of his most valuable employees who comes to work 30 minutes early and did a SUPER job every day.”

Jesse was a loving, dependable, and devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend who sought to enjoy life, living, all of God’s creation, and a good porterhouse steak (on occasion). Jesse loved the Lord and always told us
“Jesus is my friend.” Jesse gave his life to Christ and was baptized at a young age at First United Holiness Church by Elder Michael Coley, Sr. Jesse was an active church member and loved his church family. Jesse never met a stranger and had a magnetic personality. He was a soft spoken young man with an incredible heart for people. He enjoyed traveling and spending time family and friends. He enjoyed going to the movies, playing all sorts of games, listening to the Canton Spirituals and Lee Williams, and watching sports. His favorite sport teams were the Golden State Warriors, Georgia Bulldogs, and Kansas City Chiefs. He was a huge Marvel movie and Fast and Furious fan and enjoyed watching them with his big sister Nancy.

Jesse was a miracle baby born with health challenges that later progressed, but he never complained. There were several times when he was in and out of the hospital. Each incident seemed to make him more determined to win the battle. He was determined that his failing health would not limit his strong will to live life to the fullest. God has now granted him healing and peace.

On Christmas evening, Monday, December 25, 2023, God whispered softly into Jesse’s ear and called him home to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. God embraced him in His arms and enfolded him in His love. A precious one from us went home and is finally free.

Jesse leaves to cherish his loving memories to his mother Voncile Hannor Adams, Oglethorpe, Georgia; his dad Thomas Jefferson (TJ) Adams, Byronville, Georgia; seven siblings, Benita Law (John); Nancy Hannor, Montezuma, Georgia; TeShaunda Hannor-Walker (Jacque), Leesburg, Georgia; Lakisha Hannor, Atlanta, Georgia; Marshae Hannor, Powder Springs, Georgia; Anthony Worthy, Montezuma, Georgia; and Marcus Hannor, Montezuma, Georgia. His loving maternal aunts and uncles: Mary Kate Gray, John Henry Hannor, Sr. (Annie Bell), Mary Louise Mathis, James Henry Hannor, Sr., Laura Hannor Hubbard (Anias), and Carolyn Hannor and his paternal aunt Dorothy Gary. He has a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and several devoted friends.

O’ Lord, our God of hope-Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope and the certainty that nothing can destroy the good that has been given. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched with friendship, and their lives encircled by your love.

We send love, and are thinking of you with our heartfelt condolences and prayers to you Voncile, and the entire Hannor family. Remember that though these clouds hang low now; a brighter day is surely coming.

With much love and many prayers always to each of you❤️

God has spoken, we have accepted and we humbly say Amen to His will🙏🏽

My heart is saddened by the passing of Jesse, he will never be forgotten. Praying for each of you during this difficult time and in times to come. Jesse called me “his lady”, and he was definitely “my young man”. We shared the same first name, and that always tickled him. I am so proud of the change and transformation I saw in Jesse and am so grateful as God always prepares to receive His own. For this, we say “thank you God”
Stay encouraged family and friends knowing that “though we mourn, we do not mourn as those who are without hope”.

Me and Jesse had a special relationship.
He would often ask me for advice before making a decision. Very likable personality. My heart is filled with grief upon hearing of Jesse’s passing. May you rest in peace. Henry & Brianna Bell.
