Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Bernard McLendon, affectionately called “Bay–Bay,” was born September 9, 1956 to the late Taylor Reese Sr. and Mamie McLendon. He was educated in the school system of Macon County. He was a graduate of the historic D.F. Douglass High School class of 1974. Bernard was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dublin, Georgia.
Bernard was preceded in death by one son, Cameron Mclendon, and five brothers and one sister in law , Tyrone Story, Jimmy Mclendon (Beverly) , Curtis Reese , Ronald Mclenden, Gloria Gaines, Anderson Reese, and Taylor Reese Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Tameka Mclendon, Palm Bay, Florida, a son Frederick English (Cryshonda), Montezuma, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, Stephanie, Ken, DeNautica, Frederika, Lasomba, Zimia, Cryniesha, Cameron Jr., Keyshawn, Jayce , Quan, Taylor, Shaun, and Jazz; one great granddaughter Ava Grace Cofer; two sisters, Debra Thomas, Cynthia McCants, both of Oglethorpe, Georgia; a brother Keith Mclendon (Patricia), Montezuma, Georgia; sisters and brother-in-law, Edward English, Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy Story, Columbus, Georgia, Rasheeda Reese, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a loving and devoted niece, Valerie Harpe (Kent); a devoted friend Lydia Holliman, Dublin, Georgia, and Chelsie who was like a daughter to him; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
