​Mother Minnie Lue Murray Hartage, age 88, 1016 Harvey Circle, Ellaville, Georgia, passed Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Lillian Carter Nursing Home, Plains, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Living Word Christian Ministries, GA Highway 26 West, Ellaville, Georgia. The Reverend George Hill, pastor, will officiate.  The remains will lay in state from 11:00 am until the hour of service.  Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Mother Minnie Lue Murray Hartage was born March 3, 1934, to the late Austin Murray, Sr. and the late Minnie Mozell Wimbush Murray.  She was educated in the public school system of Schley County whereas she was a tenth grade graduate of John Lewis High School.  She began her teaching career at John Lewis High as a paraprofessional.
 
Minnie Joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church whereas she exemplified her worth as a Sunday School teacher and supported every facet of the church she loved so well.
 
In 1952, two hearts became one when she joined James L. Hartage Sr. in holy matrimony and to this union five children were born. Several years later Minnie and her family moved to Miami, Florida whereas she was employed as a cashier with Pantry Pride Grocery Store.  Minnie was a member of the local chapter of Order of Eastern Star of Miami, Florida. After retiring Minnie and her husband moved back to their native home, Ellaville, Georgia.
 
On Wednesday in the surrounding of loved ones and friends, she quietly made her transition for a better home.  She leaves behind her loved and devoted husband of 70 years James L. Hartage, Sr.; her five children and their spouses, Minnie J. Hartage Garmon, Tampa, Florida, Edith A. Hartage, Miami, Florida, James L. Hartage, Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Debra E. Hartage Hall (Jimmy), Ellaville, Georgia and Coretta D. Hartage Hampton (Aaron), Columbus, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; three siblings, Johnny Lee Murray (Betty), California, Geneva Williams, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Joedell Murray, Jonesboro, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.

Elizabeth Duncan Gilstrap, age 72, passed on September 5, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, September 12, 2022, at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Donald Anthony “ Duck” Minter Sr., age 57, passed on August 31, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, 2022, at American Legion Post 191, 142 GA Highway 153, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens, corner of Mayo Street and Southerfield Road, Americus, Georgia.

Donald “Duck” Anthony Minter, Sr. was born on December 31, 1964, in Americus, Georgia to the late Johnny B. Thomas Sr. and Ethelene Edge. He departed his earthly life on August 31, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia.

He attended the Schley County (Ellaville, GA) and Marion County School Systems (Buena Vista, GA). He was a resident of Atlanta, GA for 25+ years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. During his adult years, Donald had multiple manufacturing jobs, and he was a skilled carpenter/mechanic by trade. He was a people person and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father – Johnny B. Thomas Sr, Grandparents- Emma Gene and Orbie Minter, one aunt – Mary Ellen Sims, and two brothers – Johnny Thomas, Jr. and Daron Thomas.

He leaves  to cherish his memories a significant other- Ms. Sabrina Scandrett, his mother – Ms. Ethelene Edge (Ellaville, GA), his son – Donald Anthony Minter Jr. (Ellaville, GA), his siblings - Gregory Minter (Stacey) (Buckeye, Arizona), Janet Minter King (Malcolm) (Americus, GA), Eric Minter (Clearwater, FL), Marilyn Mallard (Oglethorpe, GA), Gregory Williams, Michael Manns, Sr., Derrick Thomas, Jasmine Evans, (all of Americus, GA) and Terrell Harris (Ellaville, GA). Grandchildren- Kemyvin Blackshear, Aliyah Washington, Donovan Minter, Jordan Minter, Kendra Minter and Dash Minter. Step-sons – Cinwon Whitehead, Michael and Dovares Roberts. Adopted kids Jennifer Sutton, Shakena Mann, Tanisha Mann, Tiffany Sutton and Charvis Mann, Four Aunts- Dorothy Laster, Arbie Gordon (Richard), Diane Minter and Cara Stewart (Charlie), Three Uncles- John Minter Sr. (Brenda), Rudolph Minter (Annie) and James Minter (Brenda). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Two very devoted cousins, Mr. Keith Gordon and Mr. William “Bill” Perry – both of Atlanta, Georgia.
