The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Faith Memorial C.M.E. Church in Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Georgia Highway 26, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mrs. Suggs was born on February 10, 1935, in Macon County, Georgia to the late Mr. Malachi and Mrs. Lula Tookes Jones. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years at Ideal Nursing Home. Mrs. Suggs had a love for helping others, plants, and hymns.
On May 1, 1954, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Suggs Jr. and to this union they were blessed with one daughter, Annie Suggs Leary, who they called “Jodie.”
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Frank Jones, and sister-in-law, Christine Jones.
Those who are left to cherish her memories are daughter, Annie Suggs Leary (Eddie), Macon, Georgia; one granddaughter, Anesha, Centerville, Georgia; and three great grandchildren, Anilah, NaJuan, and Jeremiah; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
