Mr. Willie David “Jabo” Ross, age 51, of Buena Vista, Georgia passed October 9, 2012 at his home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 30 South, Americus, Georgia. Reverend Johnny L. Sanders, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Friendship Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Georgia Highway 30 South, Americus, Georgia.

Mr. Willie David “Jabo” Ross, was born on January 6, 1961 to the late Charlie W. Ross and Alice Walker ross in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia. Five siblings preceded him in deatha: Charlie W. Ross, Jr., Roosevelt Ross, Emma Ruth Ross, Margarine Ross Langston and Maggie Lou Ross Solomon. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County where he acquired his elementary education in the historic Plains Elementary School. The family moved back to Marion County and in 1979 he graduated from Tri-county High School. At an early age he joined the New Bethel Baptist Church. For several dedicated years he was employed with Wells And Grain of Ellaville, Georgia as a heavy equipment operator.

The legacy of a beautiful life will remain a treasure forever in the memories of those who survive which include his companion of 9 years, Ms. Sheila Aldridge of Ellaville, Georgia. Two siblings, Ms. Marie Ross and Katie Ross (Elijah), all of Ellaville, Georgia. A host of beloved nieces and nephews including a devoted niece, Shearlean Thornton (Nathaniel), Ellaville, Georgia; Robert Solomon, Jr. (Sadie), Athens, Georgia, Katrina Ross, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Natasha Johnson, Marsheika Johnson, Dasia Johnson, Sarah Hollmon (James), Melinda Solomon, Tracy Solomon, Delmar Solomon (Kirven), Kevin Solomon, Carla Solomon, Keith Solomon, Antonio Solomon, Shantell Solomon, Corneilus Ross, all of Ellaville, Georgia, Tyrone Ross, Saint Petersburg, Florida, Travis Solomon, Teresa Harpe, Alameque Harpe, Brad Harpe, Jeffery Harpe, Albert Harpe, Courtney Harpe, all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Chris Dowsey and Albert Dowsey, both of Columbus,Georgia; aunts and uncles, James Ross (Dollie), Clewiston, Florida, Emory Ross (Rosa), Bessie Scott, Thelma King, all of Rochester, New York, Bertha Mae Hartage, Miami, Florida, Joe Ross, Gainesville, Florida, Mattie Williams, Smithville, Georgia and Nehmiah Walker, Americus, Georgia; a host of beloved great nieces, great nephews,other relatives and friends including three devoted friends, Barry Solomon, Will Carter and I-John Moore.
