The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the United Holiness Church Headquarters, Aaron Snipes Jr. Drive, Americus, Georgia, where Bishop Arthur Fulton is pastor. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Mr. Willie Lee Lyles was born July 22, 1950 in Schley County, Georgia to the late John Benjamin Lyles and the late Bertha Ree Holmes Lyles. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. He was married in 2005 to Anita Lundy and to this union four children were born. He retired from the City of Americus, Georgia after twelve years of dedicated services in the transportation department. Willie joined Prayer Praise Preach & Deliverances Church under leadership of the late Pastor Vernell Carter. He also served as a base guitar player for Word of Faith Ministry. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Dean Baisden and Nettie Woods, and two brothers, Robert Lyles and James Lyles.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, Anita Lyles, Americus, Georgia; four children, Willie Ann (Rodney) Lewis, Tanitra Durham, and Jesse Durham all of Americus, Georgia, and Taidra Times (Fredrick), Buena Vista, Georgia; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings; Ora Dean Engram, South Carolina, Nathaniel Lyles and Johnny Lyes, both of Plains, Georgia, Annie Cleveland, Americus, Georgia, Mamie Tavare (Jesus), New Jersey, Mary Ann Hill, Newnan, Georgia, Sarah Thomas and Annie B. Lyles (Joe) both of Riverdale, Georgia, Charles Lyles (Barbara), Ideal, Georgia; grandmother, Allie B. King, Columbus, Georgia; sisters/brothers-in-law, Catherine Nelson, Elaine Sims, Maria Coley (Terrell), Beverly McCrary (Earl), Sherronda Ross, Lillie Woods, and Mary Ann Merritt, all of Americus, Georgia, Jeffery Lundy, Fort Valley, Georgia, George Lundy (Christine) and Dwayne Lundy (Mary) both of Maple Grove, Minnesota; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Including several devoted friends, Pastor Sandy Parks (Alice), Bro Roosevelt Moore (Reatha), Joe Callaway (Ethel), Deacon David Lee Davis (Patricia), Sister Lanette Abram North and Bishop Holmon Harvey (Betty).
