The Funeral Service for Willie “Bobby” Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia with Reverend Jerome Glover officiating.

Willie “Bobby” Jackson, one of nine children, was born July 29, 1944, in Macon County, Georgia to the parentage of Marie Jackson and the late Mott Plass Jackson. Willie received his education through the Macon County Public School System. He transitioned into the work field after school to begin working with heavy machinery and becoming a jack of all trades.

Willie grew up in Magnolia Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. Everyone knew him to be loving, caring, and loyal to his loved ones. Willie loved to be around his family and especially to spend time with his dear mother. He was funny and always the life of the party.

Willie peacefully transitioned on to glory on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the comfort of Willson Hospice Home in Albany, Georgia. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Charlie, Nathaniel, Cordel, and Edward Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted mother, Marie Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia; a daughter, Kimbly Nelson of Americus Georgia; a son, Tony Jackson of Americus, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jaqazeus Wallace of Atlanta, Georgia, Kebresha Baker of Albany, Georgia, Shatori Wallace of Americus, Georgia, and Chasten Ingram of Americus, Georgia; three sisters: Helen Williams of Rochester, New York, Emma Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia, and Julia Tookes (Isaiah) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; one brother: Reginald Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia; two sisters-in-law: Mary Helen Jackson and Brenda Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia; dedicated nieces, Kiwanna Jackson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jaquona Green (Anthony) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends Earlene and Elvis Bryant of Oglethorpe, Georgia.

To the Jackson family of Cousin Marie, Helen, Emma, Julia, Reginald and others, It gives me a pleasure of condolences to write a comment on behalf of Bobby Jackson as I knew him , Bobby was that guy, a friendly smiling, jolly person, Bobby will be truly missed by every body in the Zuma “ his character and helping others was so amazing. Bobby loved his family I remember being in his presence at my aunt and uncles house he would always say such good things about his Mother (Morer)Julia, Kim, Kelly and others. His mother would meet my grandmother at Jones Grocery Market they would laugh so hard and talk forever. We all loved the Jackson family. Bobby would always visit. Bobby, when you walk through those gates in Heaven make sure you tell Aunt Edith and Uncle Oscar hello for me those were his favorite friends and relative. Sleep on Bobby take your rest he was one fast walking man, I walked from the K& B grocery store one day with him he was already at Mr. Willie Glen’s shop when I got there. 😀 walk around Heaven Bobby” fast as you like.
