Thomas Royal, Sr.

Thomas “Boone” Royal, Sr., age 48, Third St., Buena Vista, Georgia passed Monday, April 1, 2013 at C.J.W. Medical Center, Chippenham Campus, Richmond, Virginia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 8, 2013 at Josh Gibson Community Center, 114 Rogers Street, Buena Vista, Georgia. Reverend Andrea Mathis, Pastor of Hall Chapel C.M.E. Church, Buena Vista, Georgia, will officiate. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Pineville Road, Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia.

Thomas was born August 5, 1964 to the late James Royal and Josephine Cottle Royal. He was educated in the public school system of Marion County School system whereas he was a 1983 graduate of Tri-County High School. His work ethics began at an early age. He was great with his hands. He was employed with Murray’s Landscaping for many years until his health began to decline.

Thomas “Boone” Royal, Sr. leaves to mourn and cherish his loving spirit and unforgettable life, a loving and devoted son, Thomas Royall, Jr., Americus, Georgia; seven siblings, Aaron Burns (Gina), Buffalo, New York, Joseph C. Royal, Buena Vista, Georgia, Joyce Royal McCannon, Buena Vista, Georgia, Jimmy Royal, Buena Vista, Georgia, Kathy D. Tate, LaGrange, Georgia, Muriel Royal Fowler, Chesterfield, Virginia and John“Skint” Royal, Buena Vista, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Kesha Royal McCannon, Aaron Burns, Jr., Joshua Burns, Paula McCannon, Amanda Royal, Latravia Swanson, Sanjay Ingram, James M. Royal (Kendra), Shawn F. Fowler, Chelsea Fowler, and Brittany McCannon; a host of great nieces and great nephews; aunts and uncles, Dovie Jones, Annie Kate Royal, Hazel King, all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Joyce Kendall, Baltimore, Maryland, Mildred Brown, Newport News, Virginia, Donnie Jackson (Linda), New York, New York and Samuel Cottle, Miami, Florida; a host of other relatives and friends including three devoted, Curtis Burton, Rex Harvey and Jody Paul Neal.

  I feel as though I have lost a brother because this "Royal" family has been a part of our family. Just know that God does not make mistakes and that "Boone" is resting in a better place.
