The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, July 15, 2024, at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Shadrick Maurice Hinton Sr. was born February 23, 1976, in Americus, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie Jessie Hinton and Mrs. Christine Hinton. He departed this life on June 28, 2024, in Temple, Texas. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter Ma’Khia McKenzie. He was a graduate of Macon County High School. Shadrick’s desire to serve his country led him to join the United States Army after high school where he served for eight honorable years.
Shadrick was a beacon of light and laughter. He had an unparalleled sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest days. His ability to find humor in any situation was a true gift as he was always ready with a joke or a funny story to lift our spirits.
Shadrick leaves precious memories to be cherished by his loving children: Aanihyah Joiner, Montezuma, GA; Shadrick Hinton Jr., Montezuma, GA; Isis Hinton, San Antonio, TX; Makel McKenzie, Kathleen, GA; Jaden Hinton, Montezuma, GA; two grandchildren: Aamarian Joiner and Aaloni Hooks; five siblings: Deon (Toni) Hinton, Belton, TX; Tonya (Kim) Mendez, Lorena, TX; Timothy Hinton, Belton, TX; Stacy Luster, Belton, TX; Angela Hinton, McDonough, GA. He leaves behind 16 nieces and nephews that he dearly loved and admired along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, and close friends.
Shadrick was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Though his laughter may no longer be heard, his memory will forever echo in our hearts. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
