Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Freeman Hill Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mrs. Ozzie Bell McDonald Edge “Mickey” was born on August 13, 1944, in Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. John and Mrs. Ollie Mae Waston McDonald. Mr. John McDonald later married Mrs. Senolia Orange McDonald, who raised Mrs. Ozzie Edge as her own.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers Ollie B McDonald, Prince Albert McDonald and Bobby Gene McDonald Sr. and a nephew that she helped raised as her own Roderick Kenneth Harp. She was married on February 16, 1962 to Mr. Harvey Lee Edge to this union they was blessed with a daughter.
Survivors include: her beloved husband of 60 years Mr. Harvey Lee Edge, Montezuma, Georgia, a daughter Miss Shirley Ann Edge (Mr. Andrew Reddick Jr. of Desoto, Ga); Two grandchildren Miss Shanesha Diandra Edge, and Da’ Rik Jarell Edge, both of Americus, Georgia; Two great grandchildren, Masiah Di’quan Edge of Lumpkin, Georgia and Bryant Ty’Rik Edge of Americus, Georgia; two sisters Mrs. Earlene Harp (Willie Carson) and Ms. Betty Jean Walker of Oglethorpe, Ga. Brothers in law Mr. Dallas Edge, Wetumpka , Alabama and Mr. Amos Edge (Mattie Pearl), Hope Hull, Alabama, and Mr. Dorsey Edge (Daisy) Detroit, Michigan, Nieces and nephews Sheena McDonald of Hartford, Connecticut, Benda James, Jacqueline Harp of Montezuma, Georgia and Donna Brown (Dallas), Valerie Harp, Selena McDonald, Minnie Banks (James), Maellen Maye (Robert) of Americus, Ga , Annie Battle (Willie) Addie Poole (James) of Port Saint George, Virginia and Veola Edge of Lorton, Virginia, Nephews Eddie Lee Harp Jr., Oglethorpe, Ga, Milton Harp, Colorado, Bobby Harp (Terresena), Montezuma, Georgia Sanford Harp (Kristina), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Bobby McDonald, Colorado, Ronnie Edge (Ida) of Detroit, MI and Eddie Edge (Amy) of Albany, Georgia. Special Cousin Pastor Willie C. Kleckley (Brenda) of Oglethorpe, Georgia her Antioch Church family and other special family and friends also survived.
