Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Miracle Temple House of Praise, 602 Hoke Smith Avenue, Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at Hopewell Independent Church Cemetery.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Oris Elois Duncan was born September 12, 1940 in Ideal, Ga to the late Harry and Ethel Howard Duncan. Oris graduated from Macon County Training School in 1958. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age she joined Faith Memorial C.M.E. Church and was dedicated and faithful member serving whenever needed. She was also a member of Ester Chapter #6. Oris was a homemaker and cared for her mother and father until their death. She was a kindhearted and loving person who would give you her last.
On the morning of November 20, God called Oris home. She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel H. Duncan her father Harry Duncan, brothers Albert (Eva) Duncan, Lawrence (Thelma) Duncan, Joe (Betty) Duncan, Robert (Ellen) Duncan, and three who died at birth: sisters Laura Lane (T.J.), Nelson and Doris Respert: great grandchild Madison Jones.
Oris leaves behind a daughter Kebrasha Ogburn; three grandchildren Nyeshia Haslem, Niacha Haslem, Racquel Haslem; four great grandchildren, Karter, Makenzie, Micah and Ava; one sister Bessie (J.C.) Nelson; one brother Raymond Duncan, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles aunts, cousins and friends.
