A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, GA. Burial will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. A beautiful soul has left this world, but her spirit now glows brightly in Heaven. Mattie was born on October 17,1948, to Pauline Redding and the late JC Redding. She was educated in the Dooly and Macon County Public School Systems. Mattie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the membership of the First Salem Baptist Church. During her time here on earth, she loved helping others so that she became a caregiver for a few families and friends.
Mattie is preceded in death by a daughter Fontella Williams, Sister: Sarah Brown and two Brothers James Calvin Redding Jr. and Willie Redding.
She leaves to cherish her many memories of her children: Anthony Redding (Shelia) of Marshallville, GA; Monica Redding and Alexander Redding both of Montezuma, GA, Tonzia Ford (Marcus) Ashburn, GA. Sister: Paulette Thompson (Tony) of Montezuma, GA; Brothers: John Wayne Redding, Montezuma, GA, Marion Redding (Felecia) Simpsonville, SC, and Barry Redding (Joyce) Houston, TX. Fifteen grandchildren: Jalam Redding, Jade Redding, Justin Redding, Iquan Deed, Kiara Deed, Emily Deed, Kentavius Wishop, Alexander Redding ll, Alexandria Redding, Auzavious Redding, Alazae Redding, Anthony Redding ll, Kerry Williamson, Cortez Williamson and Christopher Williamson and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and devoted Companion Oscar Lee Clark.
