The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday May 13, 2015 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Marshall Fobbs was born on March 16, 1942 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia, to Nannie Mae Fobbs Tooke and was reared by the late George Washington Tooke, Sr. He was educated in the public School System of Macon County and attended the Historic D. F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia.
Marshall worked as a construction worker at Bacchus Concrete Construction Company for many years. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Veraldine McDonald Fobbs. He was preceded in death by his wife; brother George Washington Tooke, Jr.; and grandson, Darrin “Nook” Lowe.
He leaves a legacy of love and many wonderful memories to his beloved family, which include the following: four children, Wynette Collier, Montezuma, Georgia, Milton Collier (Beverly), Atlanta, Georgia, Edward McDonald (Tabitha), Atlanta, Georgia, Jerry Lynn (Ava), Atlanta, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; a devoted mother, Nannie Mae Tooke, Montezuma, Georgia; siblings, Patsy Carter, Vienna, Georgia, Arthur Mae Paster (Willie James), Montezuma, Georgia, Wyonnie Tooke, Perry, Georgia, Georgia Boyd, Americus, Georgia, Bertha Lee Tooke, Chicago, Illinois, Mary Alice McCleod, Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas Fobbs, Atlanta, Georgia, Samuel Fobbs, Montezuma, Georgia; aunts, Mary Liza Harrison, Montezuma, Georgia, Janie Smith, Midway, Georgia, Bertha Fobbs, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including two devoted friends, Earl and Mattie Mae Woolfork.
