Marjorie White Storey was born on September 29, 1944, in Schley County, Georgia to the late Mr. Charlie George White, Sr. and Tymy Minerva Hartage White. Marjorie was the 6th oldest of nine children. She passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026 in Covington, Georgia surrounded by loved ones.
Marjorie was educated in the public school systems of Macon and Schley Counties. At an early age, she joined Samuel Chapel A.M.E. Church where she later served faithfully as the church’s secretary for many years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially playing Scrabble with her family and Bingo with her friends at the nursing home. She especially enjoyed fresh vegetables, and among her favorite dishes were black-eyed peas with okra, which she affectionately called “lifesavers.” Marjorie also had a deep love for gospel music and found great inspiration in the songs of Troy Ramey, Debra Snipes, the Swanee Quintet, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s. Throughout her working years, she was employed by Dent Poultry, Wood Grain Molding, and Davidson Rubber Company. She remained at Davidson Rubber Company for several years until her health began to decline. A gifted homemaker and loving presence in the lives of those around her, Marjorie was especially known for baking her famous pineapple coconut layer cakes, which became a treasured tradition at family gatherings. She filled our lives with love, laughter, and kindness, and she will remain in our hearts forever.
