Mr. L. Z. Johnson, Jr., age 76, Shady Grove Apartments, Ellaville, Georgia died Friday, September 25, 2015 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1908 Dozier Road, Ellaville, Georgia, where Reverend William Lassiter is pastor.  Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. The Reverend James Blue, New St. Stephens Baptist Church, Albany, Georgia will officiate.

Mr. L. Z. Johnson, Jr. was born December 22, 1938 to the parentage of the late Mr. L. Z. Johnson, Sr. and the late Lucille Ross Johnson in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia.  He was educated in the public school system of Schley County, Georgia.  At an early age, he joined the band of Christian Believers at Ebenezer Baptist Church.  He was a sporty, well-dressed man, outgoing, and full of laughter.  After 35 dedicated years of service, he retired from Oxford Motor Company of Americus, Georgia.

He was married to the late Irene Hartage Johnson.  To this union, they were blessed with five children.  One son, Bruce Johnson, preceded him in death.   He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Luther Johnson, Clifford Johnson and Willie C. Johnson. 

Survivors are his wife, Annette Greene Johnson, Americus, Georgia; loving children, Diana Johnson Greene (Robert), Americus, Georgia, Jeanette Johnson, Americus, Georgia, Pennie Johnson McGarrah (Tommy), Plains, Georgia, Rodney Johnson (Terri), Atlanta, Georgia, Lorenzo Johnson, Stanley Greene, Reginald Greene, all of Americus, Georgia, Ameka Colson (Antonyo), Byron, Georgia, Ervin Melton, and Faye Deriso (Anthony), Plains, Georgia; one sister, Catherine Carter (Willie), Racine, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, including a very devoted niece, Irene Allen (George), Americus, Georgia; other relatives and friends.

Another family member gone on to be with the Lord. I Pray that God will continue to give us strength.I would be so happy when my grandma Ida would let me go to cousin Lucille house to spend the night with Jr. & Sister. we had so much fun.I have such fond memories of my cousin.God is good all the time and all the time God isGOOD. Love You ! My Family!!
