The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Liberty Church of God by Faith, 927 Pond Church Road, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Junior was born on March 13, 1952, in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia, to the late Annie Bell Richardson Battle and Major Battle. He received his education in the public schools of Schley County. A dedicated member of Liberty Church of God by Faith, Junior served faithfully as a deacon. He valued the time spent with his family and had a profound love for his grandchildren. Junior took great joy in attending church, where he found fellowship and spiritual fulfillment. He also cherished moments with his wife, finding happiness in their shared time together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Bell Richardson Battle and Major Battle, as well as fifteen siblings.
On Friday, March 28, 2025, Mr. Junior Battle was called to rest in the presence of the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Battle; four children: Lanorris Battle of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Teresa Warren (Robert) of Fort Valley, Georgia, Major Battle (Tamara) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tawanda Battle (Robert) of Perry, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren, whom he dearly loved; nine great-grandchildren; two devoted children whom he loved as his own, Veronica Walker and Bennie Walker, Jr., Brother in law: Phillip Walker, Montezuma, Georgia, Sister in law: Gloria Walker of Columbus, Georgia; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
