Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2021 at Josh Gibson Center, 20 Gibson Way, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow at New Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, GA Hwy 41 South, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Jewel E. Kilebrew-Kelley was born on November 17, 1943 in Buena Vista, GA to the late James and Katie Lou Walton. Jewel was preceded in death by five siblings: Howard Lewis Walton Sr; Hayword Walton Sr; Elma Walton; Ossie Walton; and Aaron Walton. Jewel was raised and educated in the public school system of Marion County, GA before moving to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 17 where she later met her first husband Marion Kilebrew, of that union two children were born making her a mother of three.
Jewel was extremely classy. She prided herself on staying well put together. Always stepping out in style. She loved her shoes, bags, hats and cooking delicious, flavorful food from the heart with love. Furthermore she was extremely resourceful as well as generous. She loved helping and assisting others in any way she was able, including giving out boxes of food to whomever. Her kindness was matched with her commitment, not only to her family but work, managing Stan’s French Cleaners, in Brooklyn NY for over 20 years followed by her supervisory position at Columbus Regional in 1995 after relocating back to Buena Vista, GA. On November 16, 2019 Jewel became First Lady of Shelton Temple COGIC after marrying Pastor Charlie H. Kelley, who gave her so much joy. His Brown Sugar.
Jewel E. Kilebrew-Kelley leaves to cherish her great memories, her husband Pastor Charlie H. Kelley of Buena Vista, GA. Daughters: Pamela Walton of Miami, FL; Johnetta Kilebrew of Buena Vista, GA and Michelle Clarke of Marietta, GA. Siblings: Essie M. Walton, Velma J. Walton and brother-in-law Andrew Howard (Howie) of Brooklyn, NY. Grandchildren: Danette A. Cowan; Patrice and grandson-in-law Justice Ezonnaebi; Telvin Arnold; Delvin Arnold; Ananda S. Robinson and Adonis S. Robinson. Great Grandchildren: Noelle and Novah Ezonnaebi, Teliya and Nyla. Her beloved niece and nephew, Tania and Steven Dantzler, whom she had a hand in raising. Step-children: Sgt. Reginald Kelley; Margie Kelley; Sgt. Carol Lott; Charles Kelley; Sgt. James Kelley and John Kelley. Sister-in-laws: Isabelle Walton; Annie Rose Walton; Mary Lane Walton; Evangelist Julia Woody (Elder Matthew Woody). Brother-in-laws: Bobby D Kelley (Evangelist Tina Kelley) and Deacon Willie J Kelley, along with a host of other relatives, extended families and loyal friends. Lastly, Jewel never hesitated to speak her mind so, when she spoke, you listened. Her presence will be missed by many.
