
The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 26, 2019, at St. John A.M.E. Church, 218 M.L. Hudson Street, Plains, Georgia. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery, Plains, Georgia.
James was born on April 14, 1971 in Plains, Georgia, to Lena Pearl Glover Wilson and the late Governor Wilson Jr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillie Mae Wilson Governor Wilson, Sr., Tiney Glover, Viola Glover; great niece, Hailey Nicole Gorman; aunts and uncles, James Wilson, Viola Glover, Bobby L. Wilson Sr., Tommy L. Bridges, Leslie Reese, Jake Reese, C.J. Biggins, David Glover, and Eddie Ree Glover. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and was a 1991 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School. He also attended South Georgia Tech majoring in automotive. James worked as a Truck Driver with Glover Foods Distributions and PPI as a forklift driver. At an early age he accept Jesus as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at St. John A.M.E. Church. James loved fast cars, F150 trucks, action movies, football, farming equipment. He was a lover of fast food and sweet tea. He was very intelligent and loved by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a caring mother, Lena Pearl Wilson, Plains, Georgia; siblings, Sarah Wilson, Carolyn Wilson, both of Plains, Georgia, Wanda Sutton (Troy), Fort Lee, Virginia; nephews, John Merritt, Jr., Columbus, Georgia, Joshua Sutton, Fort Lee, Virginia; nieces, Tacora Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia, Mercedees Merritt, Plains, Georgia and Ashlyn Sutton, Fort Lee, Virginia; a great niece, Ja’Kailynn Merritt, Columbus, Georgia; aunts, Lizzie Harper, Diane Wilson (John), Mary Hunt (Marvin), Sandra Stevens, Beatrice Laster; a host of cousins and friends including devoted friends Rodney Polk, Gracie Hayes, Eve Roberts (Melvin), Mary Ann Hayes, Valarie Westbrook, Henry Polk, Todd Muff (Brenda) and Jackie Franklin (Rose) was like a father figure and Johnnie M Hayes who was like a mother figure.
