Mrs. Inez Green Ivory, age 79, 1015 GA Hwy 26 East, Buena Vista, Georgia passed Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice, Moon Road, Columbus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Bridges Street, Buena Vista, Georgia, where Reverend Felton Poole is pastor.  Bishop Melvin McCluster, Senior Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Americus, Georgia will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.  The remains will lay in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.

Mrs. Ivory was born in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia December 13, 1936 to the late Rosa Lee Lockhart. Four of her siblings, Willie Mae Lockhart, Ella Bess Bateman, Lovie Jane McCauley, and John Wesley, preceded her in death.  She was educated in the public school system of Marion County.  She acquired her LPN License July 2, 1976 from South Georgia Technical College.  For over thirty-four years, she nursed her family, community and surrounding area.   During her professional years, she worked in the office of Dr. Willliam McCall Calhoun of Buena Vista, Georgia. She was employed as head nurse at the Lillian Carter Nursing Center of Plains, Georgia for several years. She retired from the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in the year of two thousand. Because of her passion for serving others, she returned to the nursing profession serving as the Marion County Elementary School nurse for ten years. She was an active member of the Georgia Nurses Association.

She was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she rendered her services in the choir ministry.  She supported the church and all it’s ministries  from her youthful years until her demise which came on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

Inez's life changed when she captured the heart of her one and only love, Mr. Willie Lee Ivory.  They were united in holy matrimony. She was blessed to be the mother of  four children.  Her husband and one son, Willie James Ivory, preceded her in death.   Mrs. Inez was a mother and educator, for she taught her children well and they all became successful professionals.

Ma Nez has accepted her wings and she's now at peace. No more suffering. I am honored to say that I knew this beautiful-hearted woman. She had her ways and you had to really know her to understand her. I'm going to miss her asking me "how my boy doing". Those were the last words she spoke to me in her last days. Rest on Ms. Inez, love you always!

Inez was my best friend in life. We shared countless times together, which I will always remember. She is already missed. We shared a common ground of love and respect for each other. I know that she is in a better place. Which is to say, she is at peace and rest. We will certainly meet again. My heart goes out to the family during your hours of sadness. Continue to be strong as you know she would want. I will "Love her always" and "miss her deeply". You can't find friends like her very often. With all God has for her, it is already taking place...

May our loving heavenly Father Jehovah heal your bereaved hearts. By meditating and God’s promises found in the Bible you can find real hope and strength to keep going during this difficult time... Revelation 21:3-5 Promises us a future blessing with no more pain, suffering, nor anyone dying... Acts 24:15 promises the hope of a resurrection, think of the Joy when you see your loved one again alive and well right here on the earth..

What a wonderful lady Inez was! I was 13 when I first met Inez and what a "joy" she was to be around. She helped so many in Buena Vista and the surrounding counties. What a legacy she has left for her family! My deepest sympathies!

My deepest sympathy for your loss of Miss Inez.
Can you imagine the joy of Martha and Mary when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life again! John 11:43,44.That was just a preview of what in store for mankind.
