Our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Family and those who knew this Man of God. My husband Reginald and I all grew up living in the City of Americus. Shimmy was
an Athlete and we had so much fun watching him play basketball in a league of his own. Rest on our brother/classmate and friend “Shimmy.” ❤️🙏❤️

I have many years, as well, in memories of Shimmy...from watching him play basketball in High School! I remember ALL the Kings being in athletics in school! I loved watching Shimmy play basketball! He was great! Also, my mother did his mother's, Mrs.Minnie's, hair for YEARS & I remember that they called his Dad, "H" & Mr. H would come by to pick up Mrs. Minnie when my Mom had finished her hair....they would always have a lot of laughter & good times! Then, Shimmy & I sang in my Brother's & Al Brown's Gospel Choir that they created in the 80's (AIYC/The Americus Interdenominational Youth Choir)! An Amazing group that introduced Gospel music to THIS & surrounding areas. Shimmy was a Devoted member. Then, getting to see Shimmy & his family, through the years, as a Devoted member of Campbell Chapel Church where my Father was a member, as well. So many fond memories! Rest Well Shimmy. You will be missed! Praying for your Family during these Difficult times.

Greeting in the joy of Jesus King Family, My fond memories of; Brother Henry “Shimmy” King is that he was a dedicated and reliable church leader at Historic Campbell Chapel AME Church, Americus, GA,. Under my charge as pastor, he fulfilled many officer roles such as steward, usher, and trustee, and truly did take his service serious to the Lord he served. He was an awesome helper and officer of the church and so much more. Brother King was one of the first to arrive and often one of the last to leave offering his services when’s needed. Campbell Chapel family I know will truly miss such a viable soldier and man of God. I truly wish his beautiful and humble spouse sister Diane and the entire family always my deepest sympathies and condolences today, and pray that God will truly comfort and bless them not only this day, but also in the days to follow.
Humbly submitted,
Reverend Gloria F. Wynds
