Emmitt Lawson, age 72, of Schley County, Georgia passed on May 13, 2025.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Living Word Christian Ministries in Ellaville, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Galilee Cemetery in Ellaville, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

I have known Emmitt all of my life and had the honor of working with him a few years at Tondee's Grocery. He was a hard working man and I don't anyone that didn't like him. I never heard him complain and he always had a smile and a kind word for anyone. Vivian, I am sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
