
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Church Road, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The Reverend Kenney Gouch, pastor, will officiate. A repast will be followed with a boxed lunch from the fellowship hall.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mrs. Street was born in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia December 28, 1949 to the late Roger Tymes and the late Oris Murray Tymes. She acquired her education in the public school system of Marion County. She joined the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age whereas she served on the usher board ministry for a number of untiring years. She was an active member of the Yuletide Chapter Order Of Eastern Star, Buena Vista, Georgia. After 44 years of dedicated services she retired from Tyson Food. Inc.
She was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Street, Jr. She was blessed to be the mother of five children, one daughter preceded her in death, Mary Linda Dixon. She was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren¸ two grandsons preceded her in death, Lorico Dixon and Antonious Denzel Dowsey.
Survivors include: a loving husband, Nathaniel Street, Jr., Buena Vista, Georgia; Three children: Ricky Dixon, Boston, Massachusetts, Steve Dixon and Natoria Street both of Buena Vista, Georgia. Eleven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Seven siblings, Roger Tymes, Robert “Sonny” Tymes, Samuel Tymes, and Gladys Tymes Johnson all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Mary Lee Tymes Murray, Winter Haven, Florida, Linda Dixon Robinson and Mary Tymes both of Columbus, Georgia. Also her beloved cousins, friends, and her extended family Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
