She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Williamson, parents Bennie and Eva Story, brothers, Leonard Story, Franklin Story and Sisters Una B. Hickey and Irene Edge. Ella Pearl received her education in the public school of Ellaville, GA. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined the Union Hill A.M.E. Church and there she served faithfully. She later moved her membership to the Oak Grove Baptist Church where she chose to serve the Lord with her husband Robert. As a faithful member, she served as a Deaconess, Usher, and Church Secretary. She was always willing to do whatever for the advancement of the Lord’s work. After the passing of her husband Robert, she returned to her home Church, Union Hill A.M.E. Church where she served until she moved to Huntsville, AL. Ella Pearl, as she was affectionately called by loved ones and friends, met the love of her life at an early age. Her beauty and grace captured the eye of Robert Williamson, and they became partners in marriage on January 15, 1956. To this union, they were blessed with three children. This union was blessed for a period of 59 years until Robert’s passing in 2015.
Ella Pearl was very well known and loved by the community. She brought joy and light to everyone who knew her. She never met a stranger. If you were around her for any time, she would soon strike up a conversation with you as if you were best friends. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, kind, God fearing woman who was always willing to give advice, a helping hand, and a shoulder to lean on. She was a woman of great wisdom and knowledge. She always had an encouraging word to inspire others to be their best. She was blessed and highly favored by God and it showed in her daily living. Ella was known as “The Hat Lady” by many because she loved sporting her church hats every Sunday. Ella Pearl was also known in her community as the “Potato Queen”. She grew, harvested and sold sweet potatoes on the family farm for more than 20 years.
