​Edward Pryor Jr., age 75, passed on November 18, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital, Americus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.

Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.​

Edward Pryor Jr. was born on August 7, 1945 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Edward Pryor Sr. and the late Maude Dean Miller Pryor. He was preceded in death by one brother, Willie B. Kaigler, and three sisters, Carrie B. Pryor Williams, Clara McKenzie Williams, and  Linda Pryor Woodard.  He attended Flint River Farm School in Montezuma, Georgia. His work career included working at Weyerhaeuser and Schneider as a Truck Driver. Edward was well known, kind hearted, loved telling jokes, and making people laugh he was truly the life of the party.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 Edward answer the called of our heavenly Father. A precious one from us is gone a voice we love is still. A place in vacant in hearts that can nevermore be filled.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his children Jennifer Fields, Charlotte, North Carolina, Charles Willingham Jr. (Laurene), Jonesboro, Georgia, Erik Pryor, Atlanta, Georgia,  Ericka Pryor, Conyers, Georgia and Charetta Pryor, Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Cameron (Mary Catherine), Ryan, Charles III, Charleston, Nicholas, Eryk, Eryka, Eryana, Larry, Anthony, Ava, Lailah, Takia, Calil, and Giovanni; siblings, Lula Pryor-Stokes (Thomas), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Elton Pryor, Marietta, Georgia Gloria Pryor Green, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Perry Pryor (Mary), Montezuma, Georgia, Terry Pryor (Furlow), Oglethorpe, Georgia, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

You are gone too soon, but we will never forget the happy times we had. You always used to tell us how much you loved us and we told you the same. You were always big on the word love and you showed it with your big happy smiles and your hugs. You will forever be missed.

Uncle Poppa you will be missed. You use to call me Baby Dean and boy I'ma miss hearing those words from you. Words can't express how much you're going to be missed. I Love You so much and it ain't no party like a Uncle Poppa party.
