The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at New Corinth Baptist Church, 220 Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Bishop Alfred Rushin, pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Staley Memorial Gardens, corner of Mayo Street and Southerfield Road, Americus, Georgia.
Eddie Cold Baisden, best known as “LB,” was born on August 3, 1937 to the late Lue Wence Baisden and Tommie Terry-Baisden, in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. He is preceded in death by four siblings, Baby Boy Baisden, Myra Wedgewood, Myrtice Baisden, and Tommie Lou Payne.
He acquired his education at the Simmie Chapel Schools in Schley County, Georgia. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Alfred Rushin. He served as a Merchant Marine in New York and was an electrician at King Custom Builders. He was well known as a handy man around town.
Survivors are a brother Eddie Baisden (Louise) of Ellaville, Georgia; a sister, Ozie Bell Owens of Montgomery, Alabama; four nephews, Dwayne Owens of Houston, Texas, Anthony Owens of Montgomery, Alabama, Tyrome D. Baisden of Ellaville, Georgia and Ray-Ray Adams of Atlanta, Georgia; three nieces, LaTanya R. Baisden Keaton, of Albany, Georgia, Felicia Banks, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gretha Wedgewood, of Detroit, Michigan; a host of other relatives and friends.
