The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia. Rev. Melvin McCluster, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Hooks Mill Road, Americus, Georgia,
Mrs. Doris Wright Baisden was born in Sumter County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Lest Wright and Mrs. Leola Whitehead Wright. Seven siblings, Mr. Charles Wright, Mr. Lonnie Wright, Mr. Toby Lee Wright, Mr. Frank Wright, Mrs. Gertrude Harris, Ms. Allie Mae Cobb, and Mrs. Ruthena Hunter, preceded her in death. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at New Corinth Baptist Church.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Henry Otis Baisden. She was blessed with thirteen children. One son, Roy Milton Payne, and one daughter, Diane Baisden, preceded her in death.
She worked as a Dietary Service Manager-Cook at Georgia Southwestern State University for twenty plus years until she became ill.
She leaves to cherish her memories eight sons, Mr. Clifton Payne (Mattie) of Miami, Florida, Mr. Henry Lee Baisden of San Diego, California, Mr. Toby Lee Baisden of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Eddie Baisden of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Mr. Sylvester Baisden (Peggy) of Dublin, Georgia, Mr. Kertiss Baisden (Pamela) of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Bobby Baisden (Timika) of Riverdale, Georgia, Mr. Charles Baisden of College Park, Georgia, three daughters, Ms. Debra Baisden of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Mrs. Belinda Anderson of Stockbridge, Georgia, Mrs. Barbara Baisden-Mitchell (Frank) of Americus, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hoston of Americus, Georgia; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives also survived.
