Daniel Hixon Penn, age 65, 1236 Hopewell Rd., Ellaville, Georgia passed Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, April 1, 2012 at New Corinth Baptist Church, Will Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia.
Mr. Penn was born April 13, 1946 to the late Charlie Terry and Ola Mae Penn Sampson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Sampson. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County. He attended John Lewis High School. He retired from Pine Oak Products after many years of dedicated service as a large machine operator in 2010. He was a member of Word Power Christian Church.
Survivors are a beloved wife of 45 years, Gloria Aldridge Penn, Ellaville, Georgia; a son, Daniel Allen Penn, Albany, New York; five loving grandchildren; four siblings, Lynwood Sampson (Carrie), Jersey City, New Jersey, Bobby Sampson, Ellaville, Georgia, Allen Sampson (Susie), Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Milton Sampson, Ellaville, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include, Raymond Aldridge Reginald Aldridge (Linda), Clifton Aldridge (Charlene), Clayton Aldridge, Charlie Johnson, all of Ellaville, Georgia and Evonne Aldridge, Ideal, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Betty Robinson, Atlanta, Georgia, Bobby Williams (Beverly), Stone Mountain, Georgia, Lugenia Aldridge, Montezuma, Georgia, Emmitt Swan, Buena Vista, Georgia and Curtis Aldridge, Moultrie, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
