
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Railroad Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
C. T. Ford was born on July 15, 1934 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Thomas Jefferson Ford and Ocie Gaines Ford. He is preceded in death by his wife, Baby Ruth Ford, and two children, Charles Thomas Ford, Jr., and Inez Ford. C.T. also was preceded in death by six siblings, Eula Mae McCants, Cathelean Wimberly, Beulah Humphries, Eddie Thomas Ford, Tommie Lou Frazier, and Mary Ann Byse Stewart.
C. T. was education in the public school system of Macon County, Georgia where he attended the historic Macon County Training School of Montezuma, Georgia. He was united in Holy matrimony to the late Baby Ruth Ford. He enlisted in the United States Army. He was the proud recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed over the years with the City of Montezuma and Macon County Public Works Department. He attended Travelers Home Baptist Church. C.T. was a fisherman he enjoyed fishing all the time.
Survivors are his children: one daughter, Linda Ford, Oglethorpe, Georgia; one son, Achilles Ford (Stacey) Phoenix, Alabama; stepchildren, Baby Ray Hopkins (Robert), Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Nell Harris, Bernice Lockhart, and Sammie Jr. Harris (Rosa) both of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Joyce Cook (Christopher) Perry, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren including one that was near and dear to his heart, Leah Rackley; 15 step grandchildren; 31 step great grandchildren , nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
