Betty Joyce King Shannon, age 54, passed on June 7, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Betty was born in Americus, Georgia on January 12, 1970, to Eugene King Jr. and Brenda Walker King. She was educated in the public school system of Marion County and graduated from Tri-County High School in 1988. Following graduation, she attended Vocational School to become a Flight Attendant. She was employed for many years at the Tog Shop in Americus, Georgia. Betty enjoyed being outside and she loved animals.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her two children: Richard Keith Shannon (Raquel Tavares), and Brianna Shannon; a precious grandson, Jayden Keith Shannon; beloved parents: Eugene King Jr. and Brenda King; siblings: Dianne King (Henry), Willie Jean Hollis (Pascal), Eugene King III, and Tammy Hollomon; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Joyce Alberto and Tia Thomas Atkins.
