Barbara Jean Blue

Mrs. Barbara Jean Statham Blue, age 55, 366 Oglethorpe Street, Ellaville, Georgia passed Friday, July 27, 2012.

The wake service will be held from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, August 3, 2012 in the chapel of the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at William Grove Baptist Church, 71 Gills Street, Ellaville, Georgia, where Reverend Michael Edge is pastor. The Reverend James Blue, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Barbara was born July 2, 1957 in Preston, Webster County, Georgia to Annie Statham and the late Arthur James Dyous. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Statham. She was a 1976 graduate of Tri County High School Buena Vista, Georgia. For several years, she was employed with Cargill Poultry Plant of Buena Vista, Georgia and supervisor of Houston County Boys Home of Perry, Georgia. Barbara was truly an entrepreneur at heart. Over the years, she owned Little Angels Day Care, Barbara’s Bridal Shop, and was a prepaid legal agent. She was an ordained prophetess.

Survivors are a loving and devoted husband of 24 years, Minister William Blue, Sr. Ellaville, Georgia; one son, Jeremy Blue, Atlanta, Georgia; three step-children; William Blue, Jr. (Eshonda) Americus, Georgia, Kimberly Caruthers, (Lloyd), Palatka, Florida and Patrick Blue, Richland, Georgia; mother, Annie Statham, (Joseph Pough), Buena Vista, Georgia; one brother, Henry Johnson, II, (Lawanda), Americus, Georgia; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Elzie Blue, Sr. Daytona Beach, Florida, Laura Gilyard, Atlanta, Georgia, Rev. James Blue, Sr. (Mary) Albany, Georgia, Mary Ann Washington, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Pearlie Collins, (Lonzia, Sr.), Ellaville, Georgia, Raymond Blue, Atlanta, Georgia, Ella Blue, Columbus, Georgia, George Blue, and Mavis Blue Williams both of Atlanta, Georgia, Victoria Blue Haynes and Johnny Williams both of Albany, Georgia; one devoted nephew, Henry Johnson, III, Americus, Georgia, two devoted nieces, Erica Johnson and Andrea Johnson both of Americus, Georgia; one devoted great-niece, Madyyson, Johnson, Americus, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.

Although we didn't know her personally, our son, Joshua Wilson graduated with Jeremy and we just felt we knew her personally. Barbara was a great friend, We attended high school together. I will never forget her. Her mother was a great person, whenever I visited, they were a caring family.
