The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the St. James C.M.E. Church, 215 Railroad Street, Marshallville, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mrs. Lula Louise Miller Campbell was born March 19, 1928, in Macon County, Georgia to the late Harris William Miller and Amanda Shaw Miller. She received her early education from the Macon County Public School system. As an adult, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she was married and blessed with four children. She eventually returned to her home and family’s farm. Later she enrolled at Fort Valley State College, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree, in Agriculture focused on Animal Husbandry… becoming the first woman to do so at this institution. She later became certified as an educator, and remained with the Macon County Board of Education for thirty-one years, until her retirement in 1993. She married Maceo Campbell in 1981, to whom she remained dedicated to until his death.
On Tuesday, December 23, 2025 she joined her beloved husband, parents, and siblings, [James Miller, H.W. Miller, Jr., Lafayette Miller, Sr. , Lillian Miller Watson, Iduma Miller Bailes, William H. Miller], who preceded her in death. Carrying her legacy forward are her children, [Dolores E. Dorsey, Edward C. Dorsey, Sr. (Kathy), Charles J. Dorsey, Audrey D. Collier (Cranston, Sr.)], and grandchildren [Kamilah N. Moone, Charles R. Dorsey, Cranston E. Collier, II, Delanee M. Dorsey, Edward C. Dorsey, Jr., Jaharris A. Collier, Devin H. W. Dorsey, Zipporah E. Dorsey], and three great-grandchildren, [Delijah Dorsey, Malia Dorsey, Charlie Dorsey]. In addition she leaves nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
The family respectfully requests in place of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the St. James CME Church’s Building Fund in honor of Sis. Lula Louise Campbell.
