Faye Denise Smith Carter

Mrs. Faye Denise Smith Carter, age 40, passed on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. John Baptist Church,  224 East Allen Street, Leslie, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 1298 Chokee Road, Desoto, Georgia.  

Faye Denise Smith Carter was born in Americus, Georgia on November 28, 1978 to John Lee Smith Sr. and the late Almeta Mays Smith. She was also preceded in death by her mother & father-in-law ,Betty Ann Goober Parker, Walter T. Carter Sr. and brother-in-law Walter T. Carter Jr. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Marthana Living Way of Christ Church.

Faye was educated in the public school system of Sumter County School. She was a 1997 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School and a 1999 graduate of South Georgia Technical College majoring in Computer Technology. She was employed with the Sumter County Board of Education.  

On May 2, 2002 two hearts became one when Faye was joined in holy matrimony to Christopher Bernard Carter.

Faye's love and memories will live on in the hearts of those she touched including the following: her devoted and loving husband, Christopher Carter, Sr., Americus, Georgia; four children, Cambrien M. White, Atlanta, Georgia, Mercedes Alexis Smith, Krishna Denise Carter, and Christopher Carter Jr., all of Americus, Georgia; her caring father, John Lee Smith Sr., Americus, Georgia; siblings, John L. Smith Jr. (Ruthie), Smyrna, Georgia, Jacqueline King (Calvin), Americus, Georgia, Juanita Smith (Abdul), Americus, Georgia, James Smith (Tonya Smith), Atlanta, Georgia, Randy Greene, Cindy Greene,  both of Americus, Georgia, Carl Greene (Clara) Desoto, Georgia, and Gary Smith, Americus, Georgia; sisters/brothers-in-law, Cheryl Goober Minter (Kenneth), Americus, Georgia, Wendy Carter Little (Vidmon) Douglasville, Georgia, Kathy Carter Allen (Dion), Americus, Georgia, Reginald Carter (Jennifer), Americus, Georgia, Rodney Carter (Melissa Jones), Jacksonville, Florida, Clinton Carter, Americus, Georgia, Tammatha Phillip (Dion) Loganville, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Ernest Mays, Leesburg, Georgia, Lena Fuller (Roosevelt) Desoto, Georgia, Elizabeth Smith (Otisteen) Americus, Georgia, Phillip Goober, Decatur, Georgia; great aunts & uncle, Eleanor Mays, Smithville, Georgia, Ella Norma Mays, Riverdale, Georgia and James Mays, Snellville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends including Patricia Walton,  Nealia Coley,  Victoria Oates, Anna Sumlin and Pastor Robert Morgan.

Mr. Monroe Hayes, Sr., age 66, passed away on December 5, 2018 at the  Medical Center of Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Corinth Baptist Church, 1610 State Route 127 West, Garden Valley, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  

Monroe  Hayes,  Sr., was born November 22, 1952 in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late L.B Hayes, Sr.,  and the late Willie Mae Harpe Hayes.  He was preceded in death by two siblings, Henry Hayes,  Sr., and Mary Lois Hayes Cephus.  He was educated through the public school system of Macon County.   Monroe was employed as an Operator with the Macon County Public Works and retired  in January 2018. He was also employed part-time with Kemp Trucking.   He was a mechanic by trade and loved working around the yard and repairing old tractors. Monroe loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar in his leisure time. On September 13, 1977, two hearts became one when Monroe was joined in holy matrimony to Eva Lou Walker and to this union they were blessed with two sons.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved and devoted wife of forty-one years, Eva Lou Hayes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; two devoted sons, Monroe Hayes Jr., Nicholas Hayes both of Oglethorpe, Georgia; four precious grandchildren, Zaria Hayes, Kennedi  Hayes, Ethan Hayes, and Jordan  Hayes; ten caring siblings, Mary Hayes Washington (Edras), Minor Lewis Hayes, Sr., Lenton Hayes Sr.,  L. B. Hayes, Jr., Lee Willis Hayes (Frances), Milton Hayes, all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jackie Hayes Hamilton (Willie), Byron, Georgia, Geraldine Hayes Ashmon, Montezuma, Georgia, Virginia Hayes Johnson, Marietta, Georgia, Patricia Hayes Martin, Douglasville, Georgia; brothers/sisters-in-law, Willie B. Walker, Jr., Ceneva Walker Hayes, Harvey Robert Walker, Sr. (Arlene), and  Roy Neal Walker, Sr. (Debbie), all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Glennice Walker Dugger (Raymon), Fort Valley, Georgia, and Leroy Cephus, Sr.,  Decatur, Georgia; a goddaughter, Ebony Walker Simpson, Kathleen, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including special cousins A.C. & Maxine Harpe in Jacksonville, Florida, and two devoted friends, Carl “Buddy” Stafford and Henry Kleckley.

Lillie M. Frazier Napier, age 89, passed Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, Americus, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the chapel of the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. of 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia.  The Reverend Daniel Clinton, pastor of Shipp Chapel Baptist Church, will officiate.
 
Mrs. Napier was born February 25, 1929 to the late Amanda Williams Frazier and the late Emory “M” Frazier of Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia.  She was educated in the Schley County public school system and acquired her Christian training in the local churches.
 
Mrs. Napier moved to Brunswick, New Jersey where she was employed as a housekeeper.  She was married to the late Charles Napier.  She moved back to Georgia, her native home, to live with her niece, Dianne Hart.
 
She leaves a legacy of love and many loving memories to her beloved family which include the following: five nieces and nephews,  Dianne Hart, Americus, Georgia, Brenda Stewart, Belglade, Florida, Willie A. Perry, Ocilla, Georgia, J. C. Richardson, West Palm Beach, Florida and Lee Roy Richardson, Americus, Georgia; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, including a devoted niece Tinisha Latrice Clark, and other relatives and friends.

Trizah Lynette Williams Duncan, age 50, 3575 Oakvale RD., Decatur, Georgia passed November 30, 2018 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  Bro. Bobby Smith, Minister of the Montezuma Church of Christ, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Taylors Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Ideal, Georgia.
 
Trizah was born August 8, 1968 In Memphis Tennessee to Ellen Jackson Williams and Joe Williams.   She was educated in the public school system of Memphis, Tennessee where she was a 1986 graduate of the historic Hamilton High School.  She was a graduate of South Georgia Technical College of Americus, Georgia with a Licensed Practical Nurse Degree.
 
At the early age of eleven she obeyed the gospel of Christ and was baptized by Bro. William Braddock at Alice Avenue Church of Christ in Memphis, TN. She was employed with the Pruitt Health, Decatur, Georgia as an LPN.
 
She was married to the late Terry Mitchell Duncan and she was blessed to be the mother of three children.
 
Survivors are three daughters, Candra Curry, Midori Williams and Alanna Williams; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Ellen) Williams; nine grandchildren, Christian Curry, Christina Curry, Camren Curry and Chance Curry. Jamorian Hunter, Zion Williams, Connor Mann and Camari Williams and Jazlyn Williams; a sister, Chalonda Williams-Zogbi (Andrew), Memphis, Tennessee; aunts, Bettye Jackson and Martha Malone, Euzelia Mitchell; devoted friend, Marion Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
