Darlene Frances Edwards, age 63, a native of Schley County and a citizen of Atlanta, Georgia, passed Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Southern Regional Hospital, Riverdale, Georgia.

The funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1908 Dozier Road, Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. Reverend Coley Clark, Jr., Pastor of Zion Grove Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. The remains will lay in state one hour prior to service.

Darlene Frances Edwards was born April 11, 1950 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late Robert Edwards and Allene Smith Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Clyde, Shirley, and Stanley, and sister-in-law, Vernida Edwards.

Darlene was a 1968 graduate of John Lewis High School of Ellaville, Georgia. She joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church at a very early age and remained a faithful member until her health failed. She was employed as a stock controller for Wood Grain of Americus, Georgia. She was known as a caregiver for the kids in the community. She loved them dearly and that love was reciprocated.

Survivors include her three loving and devoted children, Latonya Edwards, Bettina Edwards, and Courtland Edwards, all of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Keondria Edwards, Kennethia Cummings, Kavin Morani, and Quinterius Stone, all of Atlanta, Georgia; three siblings, Larry Edwards (Bertha), Ellaville, Georgia, Lee Arness Edwards, Sr., Milledgeville, Georgia, and Robins Mansfield (William), Austell, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Mary Dean Smith (Norman), Brooklyn, New York, Lou Willie Edwards, Americus, Georgia, Cornelius Sellars, Macon, Georgia, William Smith (Lorene), Ellaville, Georgia, and Inez Trice, St. Petersburg, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends, including two devoted friends, Ruby Tennison and Joanne Chapel.

Alfred Hardrick, age 67, 608 Vicksburg Court, Conyers, Georgia passed Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Veteran Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3150 Dogwood Drive, Hapeville, Georgia.  Interment will follow in Kennedy Memorial Gardens, 2500 River Road, Ellenwood, Georgia. Meadows' Mortuary, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

Alfred was born October 13, 1945 to the late Rev. and Mrs. O. C. Hardrick. He was a 1963 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School of Montezuma, Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joi Hardrick.

Survivors are his son, Robbie Fredrick Hardrick, Conyers, Georgia; daughter, Kimberly Hardrick, Conyers, Georgia; one grandson, Damon Hardrick, Conyers, Georgia; four sisters, Kaye Kirkland (Eugene), Broxton, Georgia, Mary Joyce Thomas, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gwendolyn Crawford, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Faye James (Lynmore), Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kenneth Brown, age 54, 822 Kings Road, Montezuma, Georgia passed Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at First Salem Baptist Church, 181 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Reverend Paul McFarland, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Kenneth was born October 27, 1958 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the parentage of George Brown and Marie Walker. He was a 1979 Graduate of D. F. Douglass High School and a member of the First Salem Baptist Church. He was employed with Hems Grocery as a clerk and T & C Restaurant. He was a member of Herman Masonic Lodge No. 51 of Montezuma. Georgia.

He was the grandson of the late Collin and Thelma Bentley and the late Lucious and Annie Sue Brown. He was the nephew of the late Mary Yarn and Doris Chatman. His brother-in-law, the late Mickey Thornton, preceded him in death.

Survivors are a loving and devoted wife, Lillie Brown of Montezuma, Georgia; two daughters, Katajia Brown of Montezuma, Georgia and Kenbretta Land (Nahjee) Glenndale, Arizona; one grandson, Kemaurie Cromer of Montezuma, Georgia; mother, Marie Walker of Montezuma, Georgia; father, George Brown of Oglethorpe, Georgia; two sisters, Joyce Lowe (Kelvin), Helen Thomas (Joe) all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; mother-in-law, Lillie Bell Thornton (Eddie) of Montezuma, Georgia; aunts, Lilla Bentley of Montezuma, Georgia; Georgia Lee Spivey, Rebertha Weeks and Elizabeth Waters all of Atlanta, Georgia, Minnie Washington, Marshallville, Georgia, Weedie Bell Stewart and Susie Lumpkin, both of Montezuma, Georgia, Annie Pearl Brown Leary, Atlanta, Georgia, Agnes Montford, Mary Brown and Nettie Mae Fredrick all of Orlando, Florida, Betty Harris and Rudine Martin, both of Montezuma, Georgia,Vernestine Brown, Miami, Florida; uncles, J. B. Brown, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Willie James Odom (Norma) of Montezuma, Georgia, Eddie Tookes (Annie) and Willie B. Williams all of Orlando, Florida; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Tookes, Emma Thornton and Sharonda Ladd (Bob) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Sheronda Miller (Clifford) of Syracuse, New York, devoted friends are Wilbert Ashmon, Willie Joe Howard, Willie Canady, Roy Smith and Under the Tree Crew; a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
