Linda Carolyn Murray, age 70, passed on July 28, 2024.
 
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1619 Shiloh Road, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Ellaville, Georgia. 

​Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

Betty Kaigler Solomon

Mrs. Betty Kaigler Solomon, fell asleep in death at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born May 10, 1946, in Montezuma, Georgia to the late John David Kaigler and the late Louise Harris Kaigler Francis. Betty was the third of six siblings. Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie B. "Bo Cat” Kaigler and Willie James “Boogie” Kaigler, two sisters Delois “Miss DD” Kaigler Dunn and Wilma “Tunkbaby” Kaigler Tookes. 

Betty was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1961 at the age of 15. She was a 1965 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia. December 15, 1973, Betty was united in holy matrimony to Coleman Solomon they were blessed with one son. 

Betty enjoyed learning about her loving God Jehovah and all the promises He made for the future. She loved her husband and son very much and enjoyed spending time with them and her grandchildren. Traveling to different places and meeting new people. 

Betty leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to her beloved family which includes her husband of fifty-one years, Colman Solomon, Oglethorpe, Georgia; one son Timothy Syntrell Rowland, Oglethorpe, Georgia; two grandchildren Timara Alise Rowland and Kaison Rowland; one sibling, Johnnie Mae Kaigler Hinton, Decatur, Georgia; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lottie Mae Solomon of Perry, Georgia, Jimmy Solomon, Sarah Barnes and Annie Margaret Solomon all of Homestead, Florida; a beloved and devoted niece, Melvina Danielle Tookes, Perry, Georgia; a loving caregiver Joann Wiggins Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

​A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 104 Packing House Road, Americus, Georgia.

Bernice Spivey Clark, age 94, 1820 West Railroad Street, Pinehurst, Georgia passed on July 15, 2024.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 125 Bethlehem Road, Byromville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. Bernice was born April 2, 1930, to the late Joe Spivey and the Lucy Mae Brown Spivey. Born in a family of 11 siblings who preceded her death Rannie Spivey Law, Jessie James Spivey, Johnny Bernard Spivey, Nancy Spivey Stewart, Ruthie Mae Spivey Towns, Claude Spivey,  Jennie Spivey Smith, Sampson Spivey. 

Bernice was married to the late Willie Joe Clark, and to this union eight children were born. Two children, Ruthie Mae Clark and Willie Joe Clark Jr., preceded her in death. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church whereas she served on the Usher Board Ministry for 30 years and Missionary Society. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and taking care of her dog. 
 
She leaves to cherish her memories to Gloria Clark Wiggins (John), Mahalie Clark, Oscar Clark, Johnny Clark (Tammy), Robert Clark (Katrina), Jessie Clark; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Hardrick; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 4694 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Arthur Lee Mann, age 74, passed on July 11, 2024. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Americus, Georgia. 

Arthur Lee Mann was born July 31, 1949, in Americus, Georgia to the late Willie Mann and the late Bertha Patrick Mann. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. 

SP-4 Arthur Lee Mann was a United States Army Veteran and was decorated with the following medals, badges, which include: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, w/2 Campaign Stars, Bronze Medal, Expert Medal, Sharps Shooter Badges, and One Oversea Service Bar. SP-4 Arthur Lee Mann was honorably discharged April 27, 1972.

Arthur was united in holy matrimony to the former Rebecca Hefflin. They were blessed with the following children: Tony Hefflin, Tucker, Georgia, Chester Mann and Lester Mann both of Americus, Georgia and Crystal Albright, Shenandoah, Iowa; six siblings Eva Mann, Americus, Georgia, Mattie Wright (Alfred), Albany, Georgia, Dr. Cleveland Mann (Fannie), Williams Mann (Doris), all of Americus, Georgia, Willis Mann (Mann), Tucker, Georgia, and Ray Mann of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including  devoted friend Betty Bell.

Theresa Adell Royal-Seldon

Theresa Adell Royal-Seldon passed July 9th, 2024, at her home in Columbus, Georgia surrounded by her beloved family. Theresa is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Jessie James Seldon Jr. and her daughter Jolena Marie Seldon.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Josh Gibson Center, 116 Rogers Street, Buena Vista, Georgia. Her burial will be on a later date to close family and friends.
 
Theresa was born July 24th, 1955, to the late George and Erma Christine in Buena Vista, GA.  She received Christ at an early age of 13 years old. She was a member at Popular Springs Baptist Church in Buena Vista GA. During her adult life Theresa fellowshipped at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years. Joining her daughters at Miracles of Christ International Outreach Ministries for the duration of her life’s journey as Mother and Elder Theresa Seldon. Theresa attended Marion County school system and graduated from Marion County High School with The Most Artistic Talent award. Starting out early in life serving God’s Will spreading love, joy, and kindness to her family in all their needs. Devoted personal caregiver for the McClure Family for over 20 years. “Mother Theresa” as they called her was the staple of love and kindness to her loved ones, family, friends, and everyone who has crossed her path. 

Theresa leaves to cherish her memories five children: Jessica and JauCea Seldon, Tammy Caldwell (Jamon), Andre Seldon, Rick Barnes, and Damion Carpenter.

Ten grandchildren Kimberly, Nathaniel, Austin, Olivia, J’adore, Tre’sor, Michael, Jaylen, Gabriel, Alaysia, and Kobe.

Six Siblings, Deborah Kelly (Jimmy), Benjamin Royal (Sarah), Jerry Royal, Milton Royal (Patricia), Authur Royal (Alicia), Andria Battle (Howard); Sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Francis Duncan, Ailine Seldon and John Wesley Seldon. Devoted niece and sisters in Christ, Neina Gay, Elizabeth Williams, and Toni Hodge and most importantly the many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ.
