After a lengthy illness, Pearlie Mae Forehand, at the age of 89 departed this life and transitioned to a life with our Lord on Friday May 6, 2022, in Austell, Ga at the Wellstar at Cobb Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father Willie Pete Forehand, mother Mattie Lou Tookes, brother James Forehand, and grandson Malik Freeman. She was married to Joseph Freeman, to this union 8 children were born. Esther Taylor Brown (Prince), Bettye Freeman Howard (Willie), Mattye Freeman, Cassius Freeman, Sarah Freeman-Rodgers (Maurice), Viola Freeman, Glenn Freeman and Michael Freeman. She also leaves to mourn 15 grandchildren Daryl, Kellinda & Jeremy Brown, Ebone’ Byse, Timmeka & Shaikobe Fulks, Kelsey Freeman, Jamal Gotel, Sarataisa & Davquandria Freeman, Devon Freeman, Rodnallis Stewart, Glenasia Freeman, Christopher & Aya Freeman. 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her life partner Jerry Riley. Two special cousins: Martha Tookes Felton & Leatha Forehand Spivey. Three devoted friends Linda Merrell, Bobbie Mckellar, Mrs. Cross. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Union Baptist Church, 207 Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
